Would this be some form of trademark infringement? on a t-shirt?
By Yahoo User • Category: Trademarks InfringementHey I’m looking at this site zazzle.com and it lets you make like custom t-shirts. I’m curious. I want to make one with the guitar hero logo on it. Is that illegal to do. I’m just doing it for my own personal interest cause it’d look really cool.
It is illegal.The logo - more than likely - is copywritten. So to print it - or anything closely resembling - would be infringement, thus you and the company that printed the t would be fined. I highly doubt the site would allow you to print it anyways.Check out sites that sell games and related items - more than likely you will find a t with the logo/design on it.
It is a thin line between legal and not. Generally, if you are not making a profit from this shirt in anyway then it is not infringement. The second you sell one to a buddy… It is.So when the site made a profit off of printing it… it becomes illegal. If you read the terms and conditions it is probably mentioned that they wont print copyright en material.
If the logo is copyrighted or trademarked, them it is a violation of law to copy, use or sell anything that contains this logo with out their written consent.
