yes, you need to get another patent. there is no such thing as a worldwide patent. a patent is limited to the country it was registered. the exception to this is when your patented product or process is well-known enough that there is a reputation that precedes it worldwide. then you don’t need to patent it. it will be safe though to patent than not at all.

You will have to patent it in every country where you plan to market your invention. There is an international patent treaty often referred to as PCT, which allows you 12 months after your original filing to file in other countries. If you don’t, anyone in those countries can use your invention, but they can’t sell it in countries where you have been granted a patent. Hope this helps and good luck.

Yes, Japan for one, they seem to think our copyrights, andpatents do not apply to them. there may be others, China also. so do some more homework on this, Our European counterparts all seem to work together on copyrights. <}:-})
