You can’t patent an idea. You can only patent an invention. While you can prepare and file an application yourself, if you really want to protect the invention, you should seek professional help from a pattent agent or attorney.A roster of Agents and Attorneys can be found at www.uspto.gov. For example, you can search the roster by city name or zip code.You can find some guides for how to do it yourselfon the same web site. But they really dont tell you haw to draft claims that have a chance of standing up in court…..which is ultimately where you go to enforce a patent.
