By Yahoo User • Category: Patents How-To

Hello Recently I came up with great card game idea, I have it in written form (rules and method of playing) so here are some questions:1. How can I get INTERNATIONAL patent on it?2. how should I proove that it really is my invention?3. what segments are covered by that type of patent? can anyone make my game available in casinos, pc games or in any other form modify use it if I will be patent holder?thank you in advance :)

  1. Well, if you’re using a standard deck, there’s a problem. You can’t patent something using existing sources. Although if it’s a custom deck, custom cards, etc., you’d have to apply to the patent commission, if granted, you’d have international copyright on it. It can be a long proccess, so one easy way to prove it’s your idea (should the issue arise in the meantime) is to put your rules, cards, or whatnot into a SEALED envelope, and mail it to yourself. This will postmark the envelope, proving a date in which you had the idea, and proof of ownership beyond saying “Hey! I thought of it first!”.
