Please help? (If you know about YouTube, computers, copyright)?
By Yahoo User • Category: Copyrights LawsuitOn YouTube I have seen many videos with clips from Hannah Montana, High School Musical, and other things. How do people get these clips? Do they record them off of a DVD? Do they buy the clips? Do they use a screen recorder? I want to use clips from a TV show to make my own video, but I don’t know how I could get the clips without getting some copyright lawsuit against me. Help?!Yeah, as in like this:http://youtube.com/watch?v=irdAAjQS_HM&mode=related&search=Taking clips and making my own video.
they download the videos i suggest not doing that because youtube will remove it anyway
All of those are copyright infringement, Unless they are uploaded by the rightful owner. Like if a Lilo and Stitch Trailer was uploaded, It would legally have to be uploaded by the Owner. Videos what aren’t uploaded by the owner are either ripped off a DVD or downloaded illegally off of P2P or Torrenting sites and programs. Loads of people do this on YouTube lately and can not be helped unless you report them to YouTube. If they are remixes (Because on YouTube, You can do remixes of videos) Then i don’t really know if it is illegal.Good luck and i hope this helps.
You won’t get a copyright lawsuit, because officially youtube are breaking the law for hosting it, not you for giving it to them, but it will eventually get removed, maybe not for months though.
Most of the clips on YouTube you see with portions of real TV shows, music videos, and film, are excellent examples of copyright infringement, but because so many people do it and because it would be near impossible to stop EVERY one from doing it, it’s allowed unless a specific company or person explicitly complains about it.And as for how they do it, they could have a DVR on their computer, and like you said, a screen recorder would further simplify the process.
Get Wondershare WebVideo Author, it enables you to import normal video files and then convert to Flash videos by clips, and also you can add the author info to it, and then upload to Youtobe. You can try it for free to see if it works for what you need it for. http://www.sameshow.com/webvideo-author.html
