By Yahoo User • Category: Copyrights in Singapore

I had the habit of collecting recipe books and romance novels from singapore and malaysia, i had received 2-3 same copies of books times to times as present from friends.Till now i had at least 80-100 brand new books on my shelf and the numbers of books is still increasing! Is it okay for me to resell the new books or used books in ebay?Or is it illegal i can’t do so? Example like i violated any rules/copyright which i don’t know?Anyone can help me?

  1. sell them on ebay , or amazon, or barnes and nobles. it’s legal.

  2. it is not illegal. these books belong to you, and you are free to do whatever you want with them

  3. no- its not illegal- only violating rules and copyrights if you are copying books and literature for personal gain.

  4. It is perfectly legal to sell the books.

  5. no u can sell them on ebay…..u just cant sell it and say its by u

  6. I don’t think it’s illegal but just think of how happy you were when you received them…plz don’t sell your stuff…the world will end as we know it soon…you must hold on to what you can….nothing lasts forever but our traditions and those of other that we preserve in our collections are priceess.

  7. sell them on ebay or wherever. just put used but in new condition, never read etc in the description. it is illegal to sell a book that has the cover torn off as that is what the publishers do when they discard misprints or any book that cannot be sold for whatever reason. they take the cover off. you will see on some books a print that says if this book is missing the cover it is illegal to sell or own

  8. People who gifted have already paid the price of the book and when you sell them it is not illegal. But if it says its giftedin the first pages then the value goes down.

  9. not illegal
