Is it legal to own a site that has embedded links to copyrighted videos but hosted in Malaysia run in canada?

By Yahoo User • Category: Copyrights in Malaysia

Remember these are only embedded links nothing is hosted on the actual server. Being that it is outside the USA it is out of reach of organizations like the RIAA. I have seen several sites like this who link to copyrighted content but they are not using embedded links. Is there that big of a difference? They are both just links. Here are some examples.http://peekvid.com/http://alloftv.net/http://www.weeteevee.com/

  1. There are copyright laws in both Malaysia and Canada much like the Riaa, so yes, they can force you to take it down and take legal actions. I think what you are looking for is a host country that the law is non existant. But from your examples, you would or could get in trouble because the items posted are copyrighted regardless of it being embedded i believe.
