Do I need to copyright the annual report I’m doing for a non-profit organization?

Should I copyright the report to prevent other organizations from “borrowing” it for their own use at a later date? There are some unscrupulous groups out there that will try to use the layout and copy for their own gain and just change the wording to suit their own needs and pass it off as their own.Is it standard practice to copyright an annual report?
It is common to copyright an annual report.Under fairly new copyright laws (USA) it is very easy to copyright materials. (You no longer have to fill out forms and pay a fee in order to copyright something such as an annual report.)All you need to do is put this on page 2: © Copyright 2007, followed by the name of the organization.Good luck.

I’ve never heard of a group stealing another group’s annual report, but the exec is right, just put (c) and your groups name and the year, and that’s it.
