Humorous News? (Mattel)?
By Yahoo User • Category: Trademarks LawsuitMattel: Porn Site Abusing Barbie’s Name NEW YORK — Toy maker Mattel Inc. went to court Tuesday to declare that the name of its clean-cut Barbie dolls doesn’t belong on a model’s pornographic Web site. In a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, Mattel said the Web site for an adult entertainer named China Barbie has tried to benefit from Mattel’s success with the 48-year-old line of dolls, which includes Barbie’s sister, Skipper, her best friend, Midge, and Skipper’s boyfriend, Kevin. The lawsuit said Global China Networks used a domain name containing the word “barbie” in a “bad faith attempt to profit from Mattel’s Barbie trademarks” and had damaged Mattel’s good name.I think Mattels name is already soured by the fact they put poisenous metals in toys and clothes….Hmmm, go figure on this one, just thought it was humorous compared to the regular news today.http://www.myfoxdfw.com/myfox/pages/Business/Detail?contentId=4139872&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=4.8.1

I guess you’ve never developed a product, taken it to market, and worked for 50 years to develop a busines reputation. It does hurt and it is unfair when someone poaches it - think of someone stealing your Yahoo Answers identity and posting something you would not say which would embarass you, as if you said it.
Hi Katrina,I liked your point. Also found it ironic, if this article hadn’t appeared, how many people would have even known about the porn site, or associated it with Barbie dolls?you crack me up ~
